Morupule Coal Mine participates at the 2025 TVET PITSO & EXPO
Morupule Coal Mine proudly participated at the Ministry of Higher Education’s 2025 TVET PITSO & EXPO, held under the powerful theme:“Transformative TVET – A Driver for Enhanced Innovation, Social Mobility, Employability and Entrepreneurship for Sustainable Economic Growth.”
Officiated by His Excellency President Advocate Duma Boko, the event brought together stakeholders committed to reshaping Botswana’s skills landscape.
In his welcome address, the Minister of Higher Education and Member of Parliament for Tswapong North, Hon. Prince Maele, highlighted that for Botswana to become a high income, knowledge driven economy we must be intentional about the transformation we desire. The Minister remarked, “We must plant a seed of entrepreneurship, nurture innovation, and connect artisans and graduates with mentorship, finance, and marketing skills. Imagine a Botswana where TVET graduates launch startups, develop homegrown technologies, and manufacture products proudly stamped ‘Made in Botswana’.”
MCM’s participation showcases the role of the mining sector in creating sustainable career paths for TVET graduates and how the mining industry is driving inclusive skills development aligned with Botswana’s industrialization and economic diversification agenda.
