Morupule Coal Mine raises its hand first to support Bonno National Housing Programme - Hon. Ramogapi
On a cold Tuesday 8 July morning, President Duma Boko stepped on recently de-bushed soils of Extension 11 Palapye for a groundbreaking ceremony of the Bonno National Housing programme. President Boko’s first official trip to Palapye since assuming the precedency comes as a nod to launch the ambitious government initiative which aims to; build 61,000 homes across all 61 constituencies, create 200,000 jobs and provide a P4,000 living wage, fuelling economic revival and reducing inequality across Botswana.
Minister of Water and Human Settlement MP for Palapye Hon. Onneetse Ramogapi presented MCM and other Business players in the District certificates of recognition for their consented efforts towards socio-economic development. Amongst other socially impactful strides achieved in the past, MCM was being appreciated for its ongoing construction of a two bedroom house to a deserving family in Palapye. This gesture was highly lauded as a first from a Corporate organisation to complement government’s effort in providing decent housing for Batswana through Bonno National Housing.
MCM’s Bonno housing project is projected to be complete by quarter 3 of 2025. This initiative is being done in partnership with stakeholders including; sponsors of the annual CEO’s cycle race, Palapye District Council, Goldern Projects and others.
